Privacy policy

Last updated: 5 November 2026

This policy explains what information is collected when you use Scramblix (playscramblix.com), how it is used and the choices you have. If you have any questions, contact us at [email protected].

Information you give us

You don't need an account to use Scramblix, and we don't ask for your name, email or other personal details. If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you.

What stays on your device

Word definitions

When you tap a word to see its meaning, that single word is sent to a free third-party dictionary service (dictionaryapi.dev) to fetch the definition. No other information about you is included in that request beyond what any web request contains, such as your IP address.

Advertising and cookies

Scramblix is free because it shows advertising, provided by Google AdSense.

If you are in the UK, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before personalised ads or non-essential cookies are used. You can change your choice at any time using the privacy or cookie settings link shown on the site.

Hosting and server logs

Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when pages are requested – such as IP address, browser type and the page visited – to keep the site secure and working. These logs are kept for a limited time and are not used to identify you.

Analytics

If we use an analytics service to understand how many people visit and which tools are popular, it will be listed here along with how to opt out.

Children

Scramblix is suitable for all ages and is used by families and schools, but it is not directed specifically at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under UK and EU data protection law), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you, to object to or restrict its use, and to complain to a data protection authority – in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). Contact us to exercise any of these rights.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
